Take five minutes in the morning to juice the following fruits and veggies for a full-powered kickstart to your day. In a couple of sips, you can drink copious amounts of vitamins A, K, B6, and C. If you have never juiced with ginger or downed a ginger shot before, then be prepared for a dose of spice and a little after burn. It's delicious and SO good for you, but it does take some getting used to. This recipe helps accompany the spice with a little sweet and sour so that you don't have to do it alone.
If it is too spicy, however, you can switch out a green apple with a sweeter red one or add some cucumber to calm the ginger tang. Also, if you do not own a juicer, you can use a blender and drink this concoction as a smoothie or strain it with a cheese cloth into juice form.
- 1 large bunch of kale (stalks included)
- 1 lemon
- 1 lime
- 1 inch ginger
- 3 green apples
