Getting up and ready for the day can take enough time without worrying about making a healthy breakfast. But you need something to rev the metabolism for your coming workout. An overnight oat breakfast plan might save your life.

I love these recipes because I can take them with me on the go. You can choose to eat them cold on the run or heat them up in the microwave to enjoy with a cup of coffee at home.

You can add or tweak the recipe to fit your tastes, but here are four options for a hearty, healthy, and protein-packed breakfast.

For All Recipes:

1. Combine the base ingredients and the flavor ingredients together in an airtight glass jar or bowl. Stir together.

2. Place in the refrigerator overnight. You can let it sit for as little as two hours if you forgot to put it together the night before or as long as five days if you want to make some in advance.

3. Add an extra splash of almond or coconut milk if needed before eating.
